A look at steam workings around the country during 1966. Included are winter steam operations in the North West featuring Black 5s, ‘Crabs’, 3fs & Fairburn 2-6-4s, the last Western steam operations around Wrexham with Pannier tanks, Southern Steam with Bulleid Pacifics running to Bournemouth, the Brockenhurst and Swanage branches, the North East with WDs and veteran 0-6-0s, the line over Shap with a variety of steam power storming the grades featuring 9fs, Black 5s, ‘Britannias’, 8fs with a range of bankers.
