Description

 The route from Euston to the North was regarded as the ‘Premier Line’, and carried considerable quantities of passengers and freight. In this programme we explore the development of the route, and chart the motive power changes.

The Programme Comprises:

PART ONE – THE PRE WAR YEARS  Steam in the 1920s with a variety of LNWR power. The 1930s with LMS Pacifics.

PART TWO – THE POST WAR YEARS  Steam in the Post War years featuring the ‘Duchess’ and ‘Princess’ Pacifics, ‘Royal Scots’. ‘Jubilees’, ‘Britannias’ and Black 5s.

PART THREE – ELECTRIFICATION   The diesel era with a look at the electrification of the Euston line in the 1960s.

PART FOUR – EUSTON TO WATFORD    With Euston station, Camden Bank and Shed.

WILLESDEN    Willesden Station and Shed, Hatch End and Bushey Troughs. Features a wide variety of motive power

WATFORD JUNCTION  The shed and station in steam days.
