 In October 2009 the Oldham Loop closed in preparation for conversion to a tramway. In this programme we take a trip around the loop in the cab of a unit.

On the way we explore the line past & present using archive film of steam from the 1960s, plus diesel operations in the 1970s and 1980s.

The railway in the days of steam traction with a number of classes on passenger and freight including Black 5s, ‘Crabs’, 9Fs, Standard 2-6-2 tanks and LMS tanks.
